Law minister's comment

Shafiqul Islam, NY
The Law Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed has reportedly commented that the ACC could not work freely during the CTG rule. And immediately Barrister Moudud Ahmed supported his comments and declared his intention to cooperate with the law minister for initiating actions against CTG and ACC. The comments are not true and Mr. Moudud's quick offer of assistance to the law minister is an attempt to discredit the CTG. How can Mr. Moudud support this while he himself was in jail and at present is on bail for cases filed against him by the ACC during the CTG. The people of Bangladesh never felt the existence of such an agency called Anti-Corruption Commission before one-eleven. Had there been no one-eleven, the powerful people would not have been arrested and sentenced to imprisonment. This is the first time in the history of 37 years of independence of Bangladesh that the ACC apprehended the bigwigs. I am sure any attempt to discredit the ACC would rather “surface snakes in place of earthworms.”
