I was very happy when the government took the decision of running the CNG auto-rickshaw by the meter and also that the drivers will go to any destination according to the passengers' needs. And for that you reduced the deposit money of the CNG drivers to their owners and increased the fare from Tk. 12 to 13.50 for the first 2 kms. But I regret to say that the decision is not properly implemented as CNG drivers still ask for extra money. I can suggest some points which will be helpful for implementing the decision and reducing the passengers woes - 1. Traffic police can ask the CNG drivers whether they are running on meter fare or contract. 2. Police Control Room or Complaint Centres should be activated to take quick action. 3. Police sergeants can take action (fine/cancellation of registration) immediately when they receive complaints.
