ACC raids ICT Division over alleged embezzlement in ‘Mujib Bhai’, ‘Khoka’
Following allegations of large-scale embezzlement in the production of two state-sponsored titles on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman -- “Mujib Bhai” and “Khoka” -- the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has conducted a raid at the ICT Division.
An enforcement team from ACC head office inspected the Administration Unit of the ICT Division and collected project-related documents, tender papers, and other relevant records. Based on a review of the collected documents, the team will submit a detailed report to the commission, the anti-graft watchdog said today in a press release.
The release said during the raid, it was found that the animated film “Mujib Bhai” and the series “Khoka” were produced under a project titled “Enhancing Skills in Mobile Game and Application Development” run by the ICT Division.
Under the supervision of Technomagic Private Limited and Hyper Tag Limited, “Mujib Bhai” was produced at a cost of Tk 5.10 crore. Besides, the 11-episode series “Khoka” was produced at a cost of Tk 19.80 crore through a joint initiative of Team Associates Limited and Mars Solution Limited, the release added.
