Charging extra for Dengue test: pvt hospital sealed in Savar

A mobile court today sealed off a hospital in Savar on charges of various irregularities including charging extra for dengue tests.

The court led by Ashrafur Rahman, executive magistrate and also assistant commissioner (land) of Ashulia, conducted the raid at Deep General Hospital in Sreepur bus stand area, reports our local correspondent.

The court also fined the hospital authorities Tk 50,000.

"The steps were taken against the hospital for charging extra for dengue tests, preserving blood in general refrigerator, and keeping expired reagents," said Sayemul Huda, upazila health and family planning officer (UHFPO) in Savar who was present during the drive.

The hospital was charging Tk 500 for dengue test instead of government-fixed rate of Tk 300, he added.
