15-year-old boy missing in Ashulia, police launch search

A 15-year-old boy has been missing from Ashulia in Savar since Tuesday, prompting police to launch a search operation.

The missing teenager, Nahid Hasan, left home in the Sadhupara area around 8:30pm but did not return. His family filed a general diary (GD) with Ashulia Police Station on Wednesday afternoon.

Ashulia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Tarikul Islam told The Daily Star, "The family came to the police station to file the GD, accompanied by a boy aged around 13 or 14. He initially claimed that he had seen three teenagers attacking Nahid at a sand field near the Gorur Haat area in Ashulia on Tuesday night."

“Based on his statement, we took him to the three boys he identified and questioned them. However, he later changed his statement in the presence of those three. He then said that Nahid’s family members had assaulted him and that he had made the earlier allegation out of fear,” the OC added.

Police said they are continuing their search for Nahid, but are yet to find him.
