Alal has apologised, withdrawn comments on PM: BNP
BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal has withdrawn and apologised for his derogatory remarks on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
BNP Chairperson's Media Wing Officer, Shairul Kabir Khan, confirmed the development to the media today, quoting Alal.
"I had a serious surgery recently. My family has kept me away from all the bad news for good reason. I came to know late about one of my past statements causing a great deal of controversy," Alal, who is being treated at a hospital in India, said in his statement, according to Shairul.
"In my long 49 years of political life, I have not intentionally hurt the honour, feelings and faith of anyone. However, as a human being, I'm not above mistakes," the BNP leader further said.
"So I apologise to all those who have been hurt by my words. At the same time I am withdrawing the statement in question. May my beloved homeland remain well and peaceful," his statement also added.
