Evidence of Zia’s involvement in killing Bangabandhu will be published through commission: Law minister
Law Minister Anisul Huq today said that Ziaur Rahman was involved in the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, which is true as daylight.
"The documents and evidence of Ziaur Rahman's involvement in killing Bangabandhu will be published before the public through a commission," he said while talking to reporters at his Dhaka residence ahead of Augusts 15, the National Mourning Day.
Anisul Huq, also the principal state counsel of Bangabandhu murder case, said Ziaur Rahman was not implicated in the murder case during investigation as he (Ziaur) was already dead.
There is no provision in the laws of Bangladesh for posthumous trial and punishment, he said.
Those who were behind the conspiracy need to be identified and unveiled before the public and a commission will be formed in this regard, the minister said.
