Price hike: CPB urges people to observe hartal on March 28

Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) today called upon the people to observe the half-day hartal on March 28 called by Left Democratic Alliance (LDA) protesting the hike in prices of daily essentials.

LDA on March 11 called the hartal demanding for an end to hike the prices of gas, electricity and water. CPB is a member of the left alliance.

CPB made the call in a joint statement issued by party's President Mohammad Shah Alam and General Secretary Ruhin Hossain Prince.

Yesterday (March 24, 2022), Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in Chattogram said that security forces will be on high alert to combat any violence during the hartal.
