Case filed against 17-year-old over raping 10-year-old boy in Netrokona

A case has been filed against a 17-year-old on allegations of raping a 10-year-old in Netrokona’s Purbadhala upazila. The accused has been absconding since the incident.

Purbadhala Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Didarul Alam confirmed the matter this afternoon.

According to the case statement, the incident took place yesterday afternoon, when the accused lured the boy into their house, and raped him. At one point, when the child started screaming, the accused fled the scene. The victim was later rescued by family members.

Following the incident, the child fell ill and was admitted to Purbadhala Upazila Health Complex this morning. He is currently undergoing treatment there.

The OC said the victim’s mother filed the case today.

“Efforts are underway to arrest the accused,” he added.
