Netrokona child rape case: Charge sheet filed against Aman Ullah after 99.99% DNA match

Police have filed a charge sheet against two people, including madrasa teacher Aman Ullah Mahmudi Sagar, in a case over the alleged rape of an 11-year-old girl in Madan upazila of Netrokona.

The charge sheet was submitted after a DNA test conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police found a 99.99 percent match between Aman Ullah’s DNA and that of the newborn baby delivered by the victim.

DNA test confirms accused fathered newborn delivered by 11-year-old rape victim in Netrokona

Sub-inspector Md Akhtaruzzaman, the investigating officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet to the court. The other accused is Aman Ullah’s brother, Maimun alias Mamun Mia, 32.

The accused have been charged under Section 9(1) of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, 2000, and Section 506 of the Penal Code.

Public Prosecutor Advocate Nurul Kabir Rubel of Netrokona Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal said the DNA test report recently reached the court.

The victim’s mother filed a case against Aman Ullah under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act at Madan Police Station on April 23. The complaint alleged that Aman Ullah had repeatedly raped the victim, resulting in her pregnancy.
