Police have arrested 1102 people for defying Covid-19 restrictions and health guidelines in Dhaka today, the 7th day of the strict lockdown.

Amid an alarming surge of Covid-19 infections, the authorities have allowed only three temporary cattle markets to function in the port city under seventeen conditions.

The High Court today asked the attorney general to talk to authorities concerned so that health safety rules are properly followed while arresting people for violating ongoing lockdown, taking them to police stations and producing them before lower courts.
