Mahfuz Anam correctly points to the weakness of our politics
I would like to thank Mr. Mahfuz Anam for his commentary titled 'Déjà vu'. He rightly spelled out his frustration about the culture of our political parties. They always promise a lot about changing the political culture before the election, but after the election they go back on their word. Right now what is happening in the country is a senseless war of scoring points between the two parties. As Mr. Anam rightly said, our party politics has become, over the years, devoid of any morality. Awami Leauge had the chance to bring some change, but they also could not come out of the mire. BNP on the other hand could capitalize on the failure of Awami League through doing responsible politics but they chose the politics of destruction influenced by the fanatics. Both parties by this time should know that “Jonogon” is no more with them. Shahbagh Chattor is a perfect example of youth awareness. Again, thanks to Mr. Anam for injecting confidence into us that at least someone is thinking right.
