After the war crimes tribunal judgment of Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delawar Hossain Sayedee, violence has erupted across the country. It was known to all that after the court verdict, emotion struck Jamaat-Shibir men will come out on the street and go violent. So government should have taken preparations to stop any kind of violence. According to TV and online newspaper reports, many people have already been killed including policemen, which is really shocking. Police should use different techniques instead of killing people. Killing people on the streets will only make the situation worse.

Jamaat-e-Islami is trying to destabilise the nation with a view to stop the trial of their leaders. I think if Jamaat-e-Islami wants to survive as a political party in Bangladesh, it should give up this kind of destructive activity and accept the reality. Regarding the verdict, it can appeal in the higher court for fair trial. I request the opposition leader to please end their relation with Jamaat-e-Islami. I also request the government and the peace-loving people to protect the minority people who fought against the Pakistani army and its collaborators in 1971.
