Shahbagh and Professor Yunus

I was left shaking my head subsequent to reading Mozammel Khan's article, "The most distinguished icon is missing at Shahbagh" (Daily Star, March 7 2013).  Mr. Khan questions why is Shahbagh not lucky to have Professor Yunus's blessings or why is he not physically present there? Are Bangladesh's citizens now to be told what to think, what to say, and what to believe in?  Mr. Khan would do well to remember a famous quote: "I may disapprove of what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it."  And so it should be with all citizens: whether or not we choose to support Shahbagh that should be each citizen's individual right.
