Violence by government forces
From the TV clips broadcast all over the world from time to time, it is very clear from the behaviour of the government forces that they are not professionally sound. It was very apparent that either they have been given clear cut instructions by the government to shoot anything at sight- even at point blank range-irrespective of the consequences; or they are having a sadistic pleasure in shooting and beating up civilians mercilessly. Their action could also be for attention of their superiors and the home minister in particular to show how efficient and loyal they are to be considered for 'Presidential Gold Medals' or some other awards. It is possibly in their minds that if their comrades can be awarded such medals as was in the case of the police officer who beat up the opposition parliamentary Chief Whip so mercilessly in full view of the print and electronic media that people shuddered watching it on TV even in distant New York where I was too a witness. The home minister's publicly praising this police officer for duty beyond call as the reason for the Presidential Gold Medal must have given impetus to the police to act 'beyond the call of duty'. It is pure & simple human psychology.
Before it boomerangs right back at the ruling party's face in the coming days, I would strongly suggest to stop these or the present government itself will have to see the dire consequences from this Frankenstein in near future.
