We like to rely on our doctors
Personally I always opt for using our local products and take the service available in the country. But I do not know how long I will be able to do that, especially when struck down by illness.
My only younger sister is critically ill. Physicians identified her problem as disorder disc disease with nerve root compression. She has been suffering from this problem (severe pain, high BP, walking limitations and many more) for the last two years. We consulted quite a number of highly qualified and experienced doctors of our country. She had been admitted to a number of reputed hospitals in Dhaka only. I nstead of quick recovery, what she got was more pains and sufferings. All this she received after spending a handsome amount of money.
Later, some very good neurological surgeons confirmed through MRIs and X-rays that she would be all right if she underwent the lumber spine surgery. To be confirmed we went to Vellore in India where the surgeon also advised of surgery. We decided that she would have the surgery in one of the leading hospitals in Dhaka.
Finally last November my sister had her surgery. We had to stay in that costly hospital for a total of two months in stages after the surgery. She will have to undergo another surgery soon. I am still hopeful and have full confidence in our surgeons. I hope the surgeon will be successful in fixing the problem.
