Why grand rallies?
Time has changed. But our political parties have remained the same as they were before. The concept of arranging grand rallies came into being as there were no modes of proper communication to address a bigger audience. Secondly, they arranged rallies to show the strength of the party. What I believe is, AL and BNP do not need showdown, as we all know about their public supports. So to save time, money, hazards of brining in people from all over the country, and get rid of traffic congestion, they should address the public through electronic media.
