Child killed in Agargaon slum fire

A six-year-old child was burnt alive as a fire broke out at a slum in Agargaon area of Dhaka today.

At least 50 shanties of the slum were gutted in the fire that originated at Agargaon Slum around 11:25am.

Twelve firefighting units from different fire stations have rushed to the spot and brought the flame under control after 45 minutes' of frantic efforts, said sources at Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters. 

Reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
