BNP hosts ifter of Tk 30 showing respect to Khaleda
BNP today hosted an iftar party serving food items worth Tk 30 for each person showing respect to the party Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is now in prison cell at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
In his brief address before taking iftar, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir claimed that the government has allocated Tk 30 for Khaleda Zia’s iftar purpose.
“And thus, we limited our iftar expenditure for each person within Tk 30 showing respect and extending sympathy to our party chief,” Fakhrul said at the iftar party at the Ladies Club on the city’s Eskaton Garden Road.
He also said: “When we are holding the iftar party our party Chairperson Khaleda Zia is now waiting in a small room what he said the PG hospital for iftar.”
People from different political parties including BNP-led 20-party alliance and professional bodies took part in the iftar party.
Blaming the ruling quarter for keeping Khaleda Zia in “confinement implicating her with the false and fictitious case”, Fakhrul also sought doa from the countrymen for the imprisoned leaders and activists of BNP including Khaleda Zia and her family members.
“The government is hanged on to power like a heavy burden and imposed one-party rule by destroying country’s all democratic institutions,” the BNP leader said.
“We are heading towards a woeful consequence as the ruling quarter has materialised dictatorship in the country,” Fakhrul said calling upon all people to prayer seeking salvage from the misdeeds and wrongdoings of the government.
