Ringing in 2014

Ringing in 2014

Karim Waheed

So, you're forever alone, 'lone wolf' if you're looking for a euphemism that makes you sound dignified. Or maybe you're just going through a phase. Or we live in a city where we're grounded on New Year's Eve for keeping us safe. Yes, that's it. Because of late, stepping out of your home could result in getting killed.
Regardless of personality [or lack of it], social standing and the state of our beautiful state, we all will be bidding adieu to 2013 and ringing in 2014, and it looks like we'll be ringing in the New Year at home, on our own. Again.
Fret not. In this issue, we offer ideas for ringing in the New Year solo, in style.
This being the year-end issue and all, we've also spend hours upon hours watching movies, listening to music and going over news and trends to give you the low-down on the best [and worst] 2013 had to offer and “credible” predictions for 2014. Take us seriously. Or not.
We're also starting a new series called “Budget Eating” that presents food options [for 2] under Tk 300 at a particular neighbourhood. Yes, SHOUT cares [about your wallet that is].
Go on, give it a read, and have a happy New Year. Hope 2014 is better than the doozy that's 2013. Stay safe. Don't trip on your cat whilst enjoying your New Year special tea concoction [as suggested by us].
