Black Mass: Depp's Redemption?

"Black Mass" is going to feature the true story of Whitey Bulger, the most infamous violent criminal in the history of South Boston, who became an FBI informant to take down a Mafia family invading his turf. With those cool blue eyes, and that calm, gravelly tone of voice, Depp is totally transformed in the trailer. It reminds you of what he can do when he's not putting on silly hats and affected accents, making hints at what could be Depp's best movie in years, especially after the disaster that was "Mortdecai". 

"Black Mass" is set to hit the box office on September 18.
