Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross reveal their baby’s sex

"We're having a girl!" she told People.

The singer, who announced she was expecting in December, always said she'd find out the baby's gender.

"I like to know - I want to do the nursery."

Ashlee already has a six-year-old son, Bronx Mowgli, with ex-husband Pete Wentz but it's her first child with Evan Ross, the son of Diana Ross, who she married in August. 

Ashlee didn't waste much time breaking the news to Bronx, who already has a little brother from his dad's relationship with Meagan Camper.

"I told him pretty early on," Simpson said. "And he wanted to have a sister, so he's really excited! He's got a little brother. Now he's going to have a little sister!"

Ashlee and Evan tied the knot in August this year, after a whirlwind romance. And Evan clearly had babies on the brain, telling E! News in November he was "working on" having a family.  "I would like [having kids]," he said. "As many as possible!"
