I would consider myself to be a little unfortunate not to have been able to share the silver screen with Jaya Ahsan. I have been a huge admirer of her work ever since I saw Guerilla when it was screened in Nandan Film Centre. That was quite a few years ago.

The caliber of Jaya Ahsan as an actor isn't really something that needs to be explained to the general audience. What separates her from other actors is her sheer selflessness.

She is delicate and strong at the same time. Jaya has created such an aura around herself that she never lets anyone in the set know if she is in any discomfort.

Jaya and I approximately started our careers at the same time. What I can say about her is that she not only loves films, but the entire intricate process that goes into making a film.

When I said five years ago that Jaya Ahsan was Bangladesh's finest actor, many took it as a very bold statement. Today, it is objectively true that Jaya Ahsan is the reigning queen of Bangladeshi cinema, and is highly respected in Kolkata as well.
