West Indies emerged runners-up from Group B despite being handed a nine-wicket defeat by India in their last match at the Sylhet Cricket Stadium yesterday.
The defeat meant West Indies would face off with two-time defending champions Australia in the first semifinal on Thursday while the second semifinal between England and South Africa will take place on the following day. Both matches will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur and will start at 2:30pm.
Batting first, West Indies scored 117 for 7, thanks to Deandra Dottin's 57.
India eased to the victory target with nine wickets in hand and 14 balls to spare. Poonam Raut scored 56 while skipper Mithali Raj was unbeaten on 55.
