Some suggestions on reducing road accidents

For heaven's sake, please help the citizens live their lives without further damage. Enough is enough, let no more journalists like Zaglul Ahmed or students like Wahiduzzaman Titu (of Islamic University) or anyone else die just because of the callous driving or irresponsible dropping of the passengers from the running buses on streets. Your report says 134 people died while 155 accidents occurred only in the metropolis this year (published on December 1). There must have been many more unreported deaths and accidents.

The authorities must ensure that (i) vehicles stop completely while dropping off and picking up passengers, and only at designated bus stops; (ii) untrained drivers and helpers don't take our lives in their hands; (iii) capital punishment is meted out to the drivers who have killed people on road; (iv) zebra crossings are marked on all busy road intersections; (v) pedestrians are not harassed or penalized for jaywalking on roads where zebra-crossings are not available; and (vi) vehicles are fined for ignoring the zebra-crossings.
