BD U-19s romp to six-wicket victory
Bangladesh Under 19 team registered a comfortable six-wicket victory against their New Zealand counterparts in the second game of the five-match one day series at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln today. The match was played today on the allocated reserve day after the game was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain yesterday at the same venue.
Electing to bat, a magnificent 142-ball 112 from opener TAD Zohrab helped New Zealand post a challenging 242 for six. Mrittunjoy Chowdhury was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh, returning figures of two for 41 in seven overs.
After the exchange, Bangladesh chased down the total in 46.3 overs with six wickets to spare. Mahmudul Hasan Joy was unlucky to have missed out on his ton as he scored an impressive 125-ball 99, laced with 10 boundaries. Opener Tanzid Hasan had set the tone for the victory, before being dismissed for a 63-ball 65 in the 22nd over.
