Bangladesh women's cricket team players Nigar Sultana and Rumana Ahmed have been included in the ICC Women's Global Development Squad that will play six T20s against Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) teams in Australia between October 9 and 14. The development squad players will then be attached to various WBBL sides, with the opening round matches to take place between October 18 and 20. Rumana is set to join Hobart Hurricanes while Nigar will be available for Brisbane Heat.

The 13-member squad consists of players from Bangladesh, Scotland, Thailand, Indonesia, New Zea-land, Papua New Guinea and Pakistan. The tour will start on October 9 with a match against a side con-sisting of players from Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars and the Victoria state team. Sydney Strikers and a team made up of players from Hobart Hurricanes and state team Tasmanian Tigers are the two other opponents for the development squad.

Leg-spinner Rumana was picked by Brisbane Heat in the 2018-19 season, but did not feature in any of the matches.
