'Can't even write down my thoughts'

While his teammates brace themselves for a crucial match against England, opener Anamul Haque will fly to Melbourne this morning to check his injured right shoulder. The right-handed opener, who suffered a grade-3 injury while fielding during his side's six-wicket win over Scotland at the Saxton Oval in Nelson on March 5, has an appointment with a surgeon in Melbourne tomorrow.

"I will meet with Dr. [Greg] Hoy on Tuesday and he will decide as to whether I will need an operation or not.  If I do need a surgery I'll stay in Melbourne; if not I'll leave for Bangladesh from there," explained Anamul.

It was hard for him to check his emotion when asked how frustrating it was to leave the World Cup midway through.

"It's difficult to explain. Lot of things are coming in my mind… but I can't even write those thoughts in my diary since my right hand is hurt," Anamul joked; the sad tone of his voice though revealed how disappointed he was.

"I had a dream of becoming the first Bangladeshi batsman to score a hundred in the World Cup. If you look at my performance, you will see that I have done well after every three or four innings," he added.

The opener, however, hopes to return to action in time for Bangladesh's home series against Pakistan, due in April.
