Delight For Duminy

Star Sport Desk

JP Duminy became the first South African and ninth in the world to take a hattrick at a World Cup. The 30-year-old became just the second South African to take a ODI hattrick.

He also became just the second spinner to take a World Cup hattrick, behind Pakistan's Saqlain Mushtaq whose effort came against Zimbabwe in 1999.

After dismissing Angelo Mathews with the last ball of his seventh over, Duminy had to wait getting Nuwan Kulasakera caught behind with the first ball of his eighth over. However, to the batsman's credit, the Sri Lankan walked after the umpire was not alert to a slight nick off Kulasakera's bat. Duminy then trapped Kaushal with a plumb Lbw with his second ball to complete his hattrick.
