Aussies touch down in Dhaka for ODI, T20I series
A majority of Australia's squad arrived in Dhaka on Friday afternoon ahead of their three-match ODI and T20I series against Bangladesh, with the remaining members of the touring party scheduled to reach the capital later in the night.
The ODI leg of the tour begins on June 9, with all three matches set to be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur before the teams travel to Chattogram for the T20I series.
The tour marks Australia's first ODI assignment in Bangladesh in 15 years. The last time the Australians played an ODI series on Bangladeshi soil was in 2011, when Michael Clarke's side completed a 3-0 clean sweep against a Bangladesh team led by Shakib Al Hasan.
Australia's most recent visit to Bangladesh came in 2021, when the hosts, captained by Mahmudullah Riyad, secured a memorable 4-1 victory in the five-match T20I series.
The visitors arrive in Bangladesh on the back of a 2-1 ODI series defeat to Pakistan. While the squad does not include premier fast bowlers Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins, Australia's batting line-up has been strengthened by the return of Travis Head, who missed the Pakistan series due to his IPL commitments.
