BCB dismisses Bulbul investigation rumours, files GD
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has categorically denied social media claims that its president Aminul Islam Bulbul is under investigation by the chair of BCB’s Integrity Unit Alex Marshall and has filed a General Diary with the Mirpur Police Station over the matter.
In a media release issued this evening, the board labelled such rumours “entirely unfounded, false and fabricated”. Marshall was also quoted in the statement, saying such social media posts were “completely untrue and fabricated allegation”.
“The dissemination of such misinformation is a matter of serious concern for the Bangladesh Cricket Board. These actions appear to be a deliberate attempt to malign the reputation of the BCB President and undermine the integrity of the board and Bangladesh cricket,” the statement read.
“In response, the BCB has initiated appropriate legal measures against the social media platform/page and the persons responsible for spreading this false narrative including filing a General Diary No.3867 dated 30.01.2026 with the Mirpur Police Station, Dhaka Metropolitan Police,” it further read.
Earlier in the day, rumours of Bulbul being under investigation for match fixing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) circulated on some social media pages.
