A Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official on Wednesday confirmed that Sri Lanka A’s upcoming tour of Bangladesh has been postponed due to the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) 2025-26.

Sri Lanka A were scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh later this month for a series against Bangladesh A comprising two four-day matches and three one-day games.

“The A team’s arrival has been postponed because of the DPL. They also had requested us for a change in schedule. We will definitely reschedule it at some point,” BCB cricket operations in-charge Shahriar Nafees told The Daily Star.

Meanwhile, Nafees confirmed that a Zimbabwe squad will tour Bangladesh next month to play two four-day matches and three one-dayers against the Bangladesh High Performance (HP) team.

“They are coming here for three one-day matches and two four-day matches,” he said.

Nafees also revealed that Bangladesh’s men’s and women’s Emerging teams, along with the Bangladesh A men’s team, will travel to South Africa in July and August.

During the tour, Bangladesh A will take on South Africa A in two four-day matches and three one-dayers. According to the fixture released by Cricket South Africa on Wednesday, the first four-day match will be held in Pretoria from August 23 to 26, while the second will take place in Potchefstroom from August 30 to September 2.

The one-day matches are scheduled for September 6, 9 and 12 in Bloemfontein, Kimberley and Potchefstroom respectively.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Emerging team will travel to South Africa in July to compete in a tri-series featuring hosts South Africa Emerging and USSA from July 30 to August 12. They will also play a two-match four-day series against South Africa Emerging in Potchefstroom and Benoni. The first four-day match is scheduled for August 16-19, while the second will be held from August 23-26.

The Bangladesh Emerging Women’s team, meanwhile, will play three one-day matches and three T20s against their South African counterparts between July 29 and August 11.
