Nepal qualify for Men's Asia Cup 2027
Nepal's rise continues on the cricketing horizons of Asia, as the side secured a place in next year's Asia Cup, where they have the prospect of facing full-member nations such as India, Sri Lanka, Bangldesh and Pakistan.
This is Nepal's second apperance in the Asia Cup, the first came in 2023 in Sri Lanka.
Nepal elected to bat first in the ACC Men's Premier Cup Final against UAE in Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur.
Opener Aasif Sheikh set the base for Nepal's winning total with his 102 off 106, with good support from Rohit Paudel (40) and Gulshan Jha (52).
Ibrar Ahmad (4/62) had the best bowling figures for the Emiratis, but eventually the Rhinos managed to get to 313/9.
Despite a spirited start from Tanish Suri (42 off 28), the UAE innings lost its way as Karan KC (3/49) and Lalit Rajbanshi (2/43) brought key breakthroughs. Despite an unbeaten ton from Rahul Chopra, UAE fell short by 44 runs.
Sandeep Lamichhane was the Player of the Series for his 17 scalps, while Aasif was the Player of the Match for his splendid knock.
