Zunaid's ‘Memorable Match Tickets’ finds place in MCC Library at Lord’s
The Bangladesh Cricket Museum’s commemorative publication ‘Memorable Match Tickets’, authored by cricket memorabilia collector Zunaid Paiker, has been added to the prestigious Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) Library at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
Published to mark 25 years of Bangladesh’s journey in Test cricket, the book was formally presented to Alan Rees, MCC Archive and Library Manager, on Friday.
Shahidul Alam Ratan, CEO of Capital Kids Cricket and a Full Member of MCC, along with Abdus Salam, President of BCSA UK, handed over the book on behalf of the author.
The publication chronicles Bangladesh’s Test history through 50 carefully selected match tickets from Paiker’s private collection. Beginning with Bangladesh’s historic inaugural Test on November 10, 2000, the book traces significant milestones in the nation’s journey up to the present day.
Its inclusion in the MCC Library -- home to more than 20,000 cricket-related titles -- ensures that a unique part of Bangladesh’s cricket heritage will be preserved for researchers, historians, and future generations of fans.
“Memorable Match Tickets is a wonderfully curated book that not only complements our Lord’s ticket collection but also significantly enriches the MCC Library’s record of Bangladesh’s cricket history,” said Rees.
He added that there is always keen interest in the visual history of match tickets, and the publication is certain to spark curiosity and engagement among readers.
Paiker, founder president of the Bangladesh Cricket Supporters Association (BCSA), described the occasion as deeply meaningful.
“Having Memorable Match Tickets included in the MCC Library at Lord’s is an emotional moment for me and a matter of pride for every Bangladeshi cricket supporter who has lived through these historic matches,” he said.
