‘Played like a complete team’

This was a win that gave us both relief and a sense of belief amongst the batsmen. Not at any point of time did they seem like losing. They knew that they could chase down the target and that's a good sign. 

Abdur Razzak

We were expected to win this game. However, Scotland batted well. Chasing 318 was going to be difficult for any team; no matter which side. So in those regards this is a big win. The best part is that the players can now carry this confidence into the next game against England.

Minhajul Abedin

In 1999 we were an inexperienced side that beat England. 2015 we were the experienced side and we did what was expected of us. It feels like we played like a team after a long time. Players can't relax now though. Their game against England will be in new conditions. They will need to be ready for new challenges.

Akram Khan

We played as per our standard. However, I was a little scared initially because of the huge total. Once the top order started scoring though, it looked a lot better. I think had we taken an extra spinner things would have been easier. Also, Shakib [Al Hasan] should bowl earlier in the game. That could have put more pressure.

Faruque Ahmed

It feels good when you win with such authority and it also gives you a much needed confidence boost. All the top batsmen, except for one [Soumya Sarkar] who was unlucky, scored and that's a good sign. At least now the teams won't have the 'we can't reach this target' attitude. They know what they can do now. Maybe the one thing that they could have done in order to make things a bit more easier is bring in an extra left-arm spinner in the side. But then again I am happy with the guts showed by the batsmen. It's something that they needed to show ahead of the game against England. When they go into the next game they will have an extra sense of belief amidst them, something that might go on to play a key role.
