After the Sri Lanka cricket team returned to the country following a disastrous World Cup campaign where they only won two matches and finished ninth, consequently missing out on a spot for the 2025 Champions Trophy, the team was greeted with heavy criticism from all quarters.

A day after Bangladesh’s feeble World Cup campaign ended in an apt whimper, a Supreme Court lawyer on Sunday sent the Bangladesh Cricket Board a legal notice asking its board president, CEO and national captain to step down.

'They have let the nation down big time and the buck must stop with them'

Chairman of Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) Women’s Wing Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel confirmed that the 26 contracted players of the national team pool did not get paid for five months due to a ‘technical reason’.

"Morkel has resigned as the bowling coach of the Pakistan men's team," said a PCB release. "He was given a six-month contract in June this year."
