Bangladesh women's football team have slipped eight places in the latest FIFA rankings, falling to 112th among 198 nations after suffering four straight defeats in recent international friendlies.

The women in red and green made a remarkable 24-place jump in August, climbing to 104th following their historic maiden qualification for the upcoming AFC Women's Asian Cup.

As part of their preparations for the continental championship, Bangladesh played four friendly matches between October 24 and December 2 against Thailand, Malaysia and Azerbaijan. However, they lost all four encounters, resulting in their drop in Thursday's updated FIFA rankings.

Within South Asia, Bangladesh remain third behind India and Nepal. India are now ranked 67th after slipping four spots, while Nepal have retained their previous 89th position.

Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Maldives occupy the 153rd, 163rd, 165th and 167th positions respectively.
At the top of the global standings, Spain and the USA continue to hold the first and second spots, followed by Germany, England and Sweden.
