Bangladesh seal women's kabaddi series against Nepal

Bangladesh's women's kabaddi team clinched the five-match series against Nepal with one game to spare after defeating the visitors 34-22 in the fourth match at the National Kabaddi Stadium in Paltan on Tuesday.

The victory gave Bangladesh an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series, avenging last year's five-match series defeat to Nepal. The hosts have won three of the first four matches, with their only setback coming in the second game.

Nepal made a bright start and looked determined to level the series, racing to an 8-4 lead through aggressive attacking play. Bangladesh, however, remained composed, collecting crucial bonus points before combining sharp raids with disciplined defending to overturn the deficit and take a 13-11 lead into halftime.

Bangladesh maintained their dominance after the break, extending the lead to 21-15 with a superb tackle that earned a double point. The hosts then tightened their grip on the contest by inflicting an all-out on Nepal to stretch their advantage before cruising to a convincing 34-22 victory.

Bristi Akter was named player of the match for her outstanding performance.

Bangladesh will face Nepal in the fifth and final match of the series on Thursday.
