Anvir Adel no more

Anvir Adel Khan, a former national hockey player and former joint secretary of Bangladesh Hockey Federation, passed away at a hospital in Dhaka yesterday.

Anvir, 68, left behind his wife, two sons and a host of well-wishers.

The former goalkeeper played for various clubs including Abahani in the Dhaka hockey league and also represented the national team for a few years. He had played in the Asian Games and the Asia Cup.  

The player-turned-organiser had undergone an open-heart surgery on Saturday at a hospital where his condition deteriorated and he passed away, according to a press release.
