Liton's 'extraordinary' knock becomes toast of Indian writers
Bangladesh batter Liton Das was the toast of the Indian cricket writers after his brilliant performance in yesterday's T20 World Cup match nearly undid India.
The Times of India termed his innings as "extraordinary" and commented that it overshadowed the likes of Virat Kohli, K L Rahul and Surya Kumar Yadav.
"The ferocity of Liton's onslaught perhaps took the Indian pacers by surprise," the daily said adding "Liton gave an almighty scare."
"As long as Liton Das was swinging his bat around, India were walking on eggshells," Hindustan Times said in a report headlined "India Survive Liton Scare To Stay In Hunt."
There was unanimity among Indian cricket writers that as long as Liton was at the crease, Bangladesh appeared favourites to seal the game in their favour.
