Alexander Zverev became the first German man to win an Olympic singles gold medal on Sunday, with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Karen Khachanov of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC). Zverev, who secured a rare win over world number one Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals, became only the second German to win Olympic singles gold by matching Steffi Graff's achievement at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
