Nat’l TT starts in Gopalganj tomorrow

The Southeast Bank 35th National Table Tennis Championship begins tomorrow at the swimming pool and gymnasium of Gopalganj District Sports Association.

Secretary of National Sports Council, Shibnath Roy, will inaugurate the five- day meet where a total of 240 paddlers, including 60 women, from 26 districts and four divisions are expected to compete. The championship will feature five events -- men's team, women's team, men's singles, women's singles and mixed doubles.

Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation's senior vice-president Mohammad Jahangir Alam disclosed the details of the meet at a press conference at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed wooden floor gymnasium in Dhaka yesterday. Out of the total budget of Tk 8.5 lakh, meet's sponsors Southeast Bank Limited is providing Tk 7.5 lakh.
