Five of Bangladeshi cinema’s most celebrated stars — Shabnam, Babita, Suchanda, Ujjal, and Alamgir — have come together for a special Channel i programme titled “Smritimoy Ekti Din”, offering audiences a rare glimpse into their shared memories and remarkable careers.

The competition will cover six disciplines—Qirat, recitation, acting, music, dance and instrumental music—with 15 individual and three group categories.

A special edition of “Gan Diye Shuru” will be dedicated to Alam Khan’s memory, featuring tribute performances by Tasmeem Zaman Swarna, Biksham, and Orthi. Earlier in the day, another edition of the programme will showcase a selection of timeless film songs composed by the late maestro.

Ispahani Group directors Zahida Ispahani and Mirza Ahmed Ispahani were also present. Judges Anisul Hoque, Tropa Majumdar, and Professor Tariq Manzoor from Department of Bangla, University of Dhaka attended alongside Ispahani Tea Limited officials.

These dramas will be aired from the day before Eid until the seventh day of Eid, at 7:50 pm and 9:35 pm each night.

The programme takes its name from the singer herself: Sabina means “Jui”.The special feature, which will run for 2 hours and 48 minutes, consists of performances from well known singers and candid reflections of Sabina Yasmin’s life and music.

Today marks the death anniversaries of legendary actor Razzak and noted director-actor Abdullah Al-Mamun. To commemorate the two stalwarts, Channel i has arranged a series of special programmes.

Following its Eid-ul-Azha premiere on an OTT platform, the popular Bangladeshi comedy series “Bachelor Point” Season 5 is set to make its television debut. Channel i will begin airing the series from July 10, twice a week—Thursdays and Fridays at 7:50 PM.

Inspired by Mahmud Didar’s short story “Alternative,” the screenplay “Tomake Bhalobashar Por,” written and directed by Didar himself, is set to premiere on Channel i, with production by Impress Telefilm.
