Channel i will commemorate the fourth death anniversary of legendary composer and music director Alam Khan with a day-long line-up of special programmes on Wednesday (July 8), celebrating the enduring legacy of one of the most influential figures in Bangladeshi film music.

A special edition of “Gan Diye Shuru” will be dedicated to Alam Khan’s memory, featuring tribute performances by Tasmeem Zaman Swarna, Biksham, and Orthi. Earlier in the day, another edition of the programme will showcase a selection of timeless film songs composed by the late maestro.

The broadcasts aim to introduce a new generation of viewers to Alam Khan’s remarkable contribution to Bangladeshi cinema through some of his most celebrated compositions.

Over a career spanning several decades, Alam Khan created numerous classics, including “Jiboner Golpo Ache Baki Olpo,” “Hayre Manush Rongin Fanush,” “Dak Diyachen Doyal Amare,” “Ki Jadu Korila,” “Ore Nil Doriya,” “Tumi Jekhane Ami Sekhane,” “Shobai To Bhalobasha Chay,” “Ami Ekdin Tomay Na Dekhile,” and “Sathire Jeyo Na Kokhono Dure.” His melodies continue to resonate with audiences across generations.

Widely regarded as one of the most influential composers in the country’s film music history, Alam Khan won seven Bangladesh National Film Awards for Best Music Director and Best Composer during his distinguished career. Despite his immense contribution to Bangladeshi music, he was never honoured with either the Ekushey Padak or the Independence Award.

Alam Khan died on July 8, 2022, at a private hospital in Dhaka while undergoing treatment for cancer and other age-related complications.
