I had to make my way inside the headquarters of Qinetic Network to meet a special artiste. He had the world in the palm of his hands when he performed his song “SIIR SIIR” at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Canada, proudly showing off his maroon jacket—its sleeve intricately embroidered with the Royal Bengal Tiger and the Water Lily (Shapla).

In addition to lending his vocals to the track, Sanjoy wrote the lyrics and composed and produced the music. He noted that work on the project had been underway for the past two months and that both he and Nora had planned to release the song during the World Cup period.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 celebrations are set to continue in Canada with a star-studded opening ceremony in Toronto on June 12. Among the highlights of the event will be a live performance of “Siir Siir” by global star Nora Fatehi, French singer Vegedream, and Bangladeshi-American DJ Sanjoy.
