BYD Bangladesh launches Sealion 5

BYD, the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, has officially launched the Sealion 5 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) on February 28.

According to a press release, the Sealion 5 is powered by BYD’s advanced DM-i Super Plug-in Hybrid system, which combines a 1,500cc high-efficiency engine with an electric motor to deliver a combined driving range of up to 1,000 km. The SUV produces a combined maximum output of 156 kW and 300 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds.

The vehicle also emphasises safety and comfort, featuring seven airbags, the brand’s Blade Battery technology, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Inside, the Sealion 5 offers a 12.8-inch infotainment display, a panoramic sunroof, and a spacious cabin layout, as per the press release.

The Sealion 5 is available in Cosmos Black, Aurora White, Atlantis Gray, and Harbour Gray colours. It is priced at BDT 47.90 lakh for the first 500 customers and comes with a warranty package, including 8 years or 160,000 km for the traction battery, 8 years or 150,000 km for the motor, and 6 years or 150,000 km for the vehicle.
