Green Savers wins first place in National Vegetable Fair 2022

Green Savers, the local eco-friendly gardening organisation, won the first place prize in National Vegetable Fair 2022. The event was held at Krishibid Institute of Bangladesh (KIB) from 28 February to 2 March.

Green Savers won under the category 'Private Institutions' for innovative solutions in agriculture technology such as microgreens growing kits, hydroponics, indoor hydroponics and desk plants. 

According to Green Savers, microgreens are vegetable greens harvested just after cotyledon leaves have developed, and are used as nutrition supplements as well as flavour, texture and visual enhancements. 

The plug-and-play microgreens growing kits developed by Green Savers allow users to harvest nutritional greens all throughout the year in a fully-automated system. The device automatically maintains the optimal temperature and humidity for the plants without requiring soil or sunlight. 

Md. Sayedul Islam, Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture, handed over the first place award at this year's National Vegetable Fair.
