TikTok is adding new personalisation and safety features, states a recent announcement by the popular short-video platform. Users can now find new ways to discover content while enjoying a more secure browsing experience.

The Popular feed, one of these new features, automatically sorts popular content that is appropriate for users aged 13 years and below.

Keyword mute lets the user filter content using specific hashtags and words from the From You feed.

If the user doesn't like the current recommendations in their From You feed, they can use the new Reset option to get a fresh batch of content.

The newly added Dispersion feature allows the app to diversify and safeguard global recommendations.

TikTok also announced that they are planning to introduce a feature called Content Levels, in which the app will classify content that is frequently used by entertainment companies to better identify age-inappropriate and sensitive content.

The app is also adding improved security features and increasing moderation levels. Maturity scores will be assigned to mature and violent content so younger users can have a safer browsing experience.

TikTok has also expressed plans for further improvements to their privacy settings, in-app reporting, content filters and language moderation.
