Zoom Video Communications, the American software company behind the popular videoconferencing app Zoom, is reportedly launching its own email and calendar apps. First reported by the technology news portal The Information, it is now being speculated that these new apps might be revealed in the upcoming annual Zoom conference, Zoomtopia 2022, starting on November 8.

According to reports, Zoom's email and calendar apps, named Zmail and Zcal respectively, are set to compete against the likes of Google Mail and Microsoft Outlook. Following a surge in popularity and usage since the pandemic, many users still prefer Zoom over its current competitors Google Meet and Microsoft Teams.

Reports further speculate that Zmail and Zcal have been in development for about two years. However, no official confirmation has yet been made regarding them.

Zoom Video Communication's latest financial report state their total revenue for Q2 2023 was about $1.1 million, showing an increase of 8% over the year, with over 3,100 customers paying over $100,000 in subscriptions - an increase of about 37% from the same quarter last fiscal year.
