Tuba Group workers' plight

Tuba group workers have been holding demonstrations for getting their salary and Eid bonus. The BGMEA assured that they would take urgent steps to pay the due of the workers. But no initiative has been taken so far.

Think about the helplessness of the workers. They could not enjoy the Eid festival because they had no money; they could not buy clothes for their children and could not even cook good food on that day!

The Tuba Group's owner Delwar Hossain is also the owner of
Tazreen Fashion, where some 112 people lost their lives in a deadly fire in 2012. Needless to say, the tragedy was the result of carelessness of the owner. It is further learnt that those garment workers have been used to create pressure on the government to release Delwar from jail, who has been behind bars for Tazreen incident.

When will our garment owners think ethically and be sympathetic to the workers?
